Family Love

In the movie, Sirleym is a complicated character. In front of temptation, he loses himself. No matter how his body is polluted by experience, deep in his heart, he still has the affection of his little brother. In the movie, when the transporter wants him to blind Jamal, he hesitates. However, when id about to throw the lotion, we can see that, deep in his soul, the affection drives his act. That conscience makes him drag Jamal out of the nightmare. Maybe at this time, deep inside their heart, they are dreaming about two people living together happily. On the train and the life in Taj Mahal afterwards, the life is plain and poor, but they are happy. This may be the time they cannot forget forever.

However, Shirleym unstable heart breaks the peace of the life, and makes him hurt his brother. They have not seen each other for years because of that. Yet, the affection in their heart is still colorful. After years, when Shirleym hears Jamal voice on the phone, he recognizes it soon. He calls his name with emotion. The affection for years still exists. But Shirleym has trapped deeper and deeper in gangland, in the last moment, he is awake. He decides to let go of Latika, and chooses to die. He does this maybe because of guilty, or because of his brother. The movie does not have the demonstration. However, when he shows the phone to Latika, we can see that the latter is more persuasive. Affection is his dream. In the end, he puts affection top on fame. He leaves the world with this dream.

Jamal is an ordinary person. He lives poorly since he is very young, owning an ordinary affection dream. He uses a pure heart to stick his dream. In his heart, he keeps the memory of his mother and the days when he spends with his brother. Perhaps this is the point that moves people in this film. Ordinary people have ordinary dreams.
